Can Uterine Fibroids Be Removed Through An Ultrasound Procedure?

Hi, I am 54 yrs old, 5’ 1’’, weighing 170 lbs. History –breast cancer /double mastectomy/ chemotherapy. I went to ER the other day for dysfunctional uterine bleeding, bloating and pain. ultrasound findings show I have an anteverted and enlarged uterus measuring 10.2 x 5.4 x 7.0. I have 3 fibroids. One in the In the posterior cervix measuring 3x3 x 1.7 x 2.4. one in the uterine fundus measuring 4.7x4.0x4.7. and one in the anterior uterine body measuring 1.1 x 1.0 x 1.2. Are these fibroids able to be removed thru ultrasound. Thank-you Loren

Radiologist 's  Response
fibroid are benign tumors of uterus that may cause dysfunctional uterine bleeding. they CANNOT be removed via ultrasound. since you are 54 years old and i assume that you have completed your family, i suggest you to undergo hysterectomy which can be done per-vaginal.
