What Can Be Done For Nodular Mucosa Surrounding The Appendiceal Orifice While Facing Increased Risks Of Bleeding During Endoscopy?

Endoscopic surveillance revealed Nodular mucosa surrounding the appendiceal orifice..Biopsy taken in the first portion of the right colon called the cecum.. due to minimal bleeding at biopsy site and increased risks of bleeding at this region in the past, a single endocopic clip was applied..Should get histology results in a few days...2 weeks post colonoscopy..Do you have any thoughts?

Hello,

Minimal bleeding can be managed easily and what the step they took it was the best and the only option could have been there.

Gross appearance of nodular mucosa does not give any clue and biopsy report is the way. Without this nothing can be said for sure. You have not mentioned any clinical history for which the endoscopic biopsy was taken.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
