What Does The Following Chest X-ray Results Indicate?
Chest xray shows the contour of the ascending aorta is more prominent than normally seen in my age group (40yrs old), there is an unusual smooth prominence of the right mediastinal contour in the expected position of the ascending aorta, and is likely to be due to mild unfolding or dilation of the thoracic aorta?? What does this all mean . Thank you =)

1.The report suggest dilatation of the thoracic aorta - which is pathology for your age.
2.The possibilities mentioned are as mediastinal mass or density.
3.In this case i would recommend to get a CT scan with contrast if necessary for further evaluation.
4.As x-ray is only a screening tool and it will give a over view, for definitive needs further evaluation.
