Is Mild To Moderate Ventriculomegaly, Without Evidence Of Active Hydrocephalus As Per An MRI Report A Serious Concern?
Hi. My daughter s head size is slightly higher than normal it is due to ventricular size is bit larger than normal size. Based on the MRI report, it was state like this: Mild to moderate ventriculomegaly, without evidence of active hydrocephalus and she also having development delay. how can we cure this,
Hello and welcome to HCM, The MRI report shows an ventriculomegaly or enlarged ventricle. Investigations need to be done to ascertain whether ventriculomegaly is due to high CSF pressure or excessive CSF production. If no cause for ventriculomegaly is found then probably it is congenital and no treatment may be available for it.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
