DAUGHTER//18//STARTED WITH HEADACHES AND TEMP VISION LOSS IN DECEMBER//HAD STARTED EXERCISING THEN//WE ALSO LIVE ON FARM// MONDAY ROUTINE EYE EXAM SHOWED ENLARGED OPTIC NERVES//TUESDAY HAD MRI W/WO CONTRAST//NEGATIVE FOR MASSES//WED WENT TO NEURO OPTHAMOLOGIST//12 TESTS FOLLOWED BY ULTRASOUND OF EYEBALLS// SAME RESULT//FLUID IN OPTIC NERVE//400//TOMOROW CT VENOGRAM// AND IDEAS

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The imaging investigations show disease process in the optic nerve.
The optic nerve is enlarged and shows fluid collection.
Fluid collection in optic nerve can be due to infection, inflammation, degeneration or any other disease process.
The disease process in the optic nerve is the cause of temporary loss of vision.
Thus, you need to consult your neuro-ophthalmologist for complete examination and thus to know the cause of swelling and fluid collection in the nerve.
Nerve related disorders can revert if infectious or inflammatory however they tend to be permanent if degenerative in nature.
Multiple sclerosis is one of the neurological disorders which begin with manifestations in optic nerve.
