My 10 yr. old niece fainted while getting her hair washed. First time ever. She has no known medical conditions that would account for this episode. She wast taken to the E.R. by ambulance and monitored by the nurse/doctor over several hours. They did do an EKG and found normal heart activities and a normal blood pressure rate. We were given informational sheets on a condition called Neurocardiogenic Syncope, Pediatric Fainting. My question is this: when my niece fainted, her eyes never closed, she had absolutely no eye movement and would not respond to waving of hands before her eyes. The entire episode lasted only a minute or so. When she came to, she had no recollection of the episode, and asked why she was on the floor! Could this be a completely unconcious episode with her eyes open, or could it have been a siezure? thank you for your time. Dee
