I recently had a cat scan and it showed I have Broad based disc bulging @ L4-L5 and superimposed central disc herniation present that makes a mild anterior indentation upon the thecal sac. This does touch both emerging L5 nerve roots in the position that could irritate them. There is narrowing of the left nueral foramen. L5-S1 facet osteoarthritic changes are present. Can any of this cause me to get dizzy at times.
1.At L4-5 level, there is broad based disc bulging with central disc herniation which is mildly indenting thecal sac.Herniated disc is also touching L5 nerve roots(both sides) and there is narrowing of left lateral neural foramen.
2.There is also facet(bony joint in between two vertebra)osteoarthropathy at L5-S1 level.
Findings are suggestive of degenerative disc disease of lumbar spine.
Majority of the cases of degenerative spine disease are benefited by physiotherapy,so physiotherapy should be tried first. Surgery should be the last option.
