What Does The Biopsy Report Convey?
My wifes biaspy report are Gross Multple soft tissues pieces aggregating measures 1.2x1.x0.5cm Microscopic examimination Multiple sections through totally submitted tissues reveal numerous degenerative and hyalinized chronic villi . Few villi are lined by cytotrophobalsts and shows central dense fibrous core with thin walled blood capillaries. Fair number of villi shows fibrosis necrosis with haemorrhage However pleomorphic trophoblastic cells/hydropic degeneration not seen. Impression Endomentrial curettage - suggestive of retained trophoblastic tissuewith marked degenerative changes. please tell me what the report mean

the report just signifies abortion/ retained products of conception. In case of any natural or unnatural abortion, the clinician and pathologist want to rule out a molar pregnancy. That is why they look for abnormal trophoblastic proliferation and centre of villi for something called as cistern formation.
Your wife's report does not give any indication of mole. So, you can be assured on that. However, it is not possible to guess cause of abortion every case by histopathology.
