Hello,

The MRI shows presence of disc herniation at the level of C5-C6. Herniation of disc can cause compression of intervertebral disc. There is formation of osteophyte at the level of C5-C6.

Osteophyte is a bony projection which can impinge on the nerve roots and cause symptoms of pain and tingling sensation in the area of distribution of nerve roots. This osteophyte is causing compression of C6 nerve root. Disc herniation can be initially corrected by rest and in later stages by surgical intervention.

Osteophytes are age related degenerative conditions which cannot be reversed and the symptoms caused by osteophytes can only be managed. I suggest you to consult your orthopedician for clinical assessment and thus management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
