What Does The MRI Result Indicate?

My husband had an MRI done and results are as follows The sinuses demonstrate thickening involving the right maxillary sinus & sphenoid sinus which appears more chronic, w/o evidence of air fluid levels. There is also patchy thickening involving the ethmoid air cells. There is also extensive changes within the mastoid air cells. there is also extensive changes within the mastoid air cells bilaterally with fluid, which could represent catarrhal mastoiditis. What does all this mean?

welcome to Health care magic.
1.The mucosal space are clear normally , but most of the cases we do see some thickening, but it this case its bit more prominent - i guess he is symptomatic with headache.
2.The mastoid air cells suppose to be with air spaces, in this cad it seems to be thickened, that means there is some infective / inflammatory process going on.
3.By seeing your findings, if you are mu patient i would have placed in a course of antibiotics and repeat an x-ray.
4.See ENT specialist for better evaluation.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
