What Does Testicular Pain And Rash Indicate?

My young adult son had testicular pain and a skin rash. The ultrasounds ruled out hernia. He was prescribed skin ointment and antibiotic. He did not tell me the diagnosis. I am concerned that he might have venereal disease or even HIV. Could it be some other infection that required antibiotics and the skin rash was only coincidental? I am unaware of any urinary tract issues.

Hi.

Thank you for reaching out to Health Care Magic.

Testicular pain may be seen with many causes. Here are a few of them -
Rash
Allergies
Infection
Injury
Muscle pulls
Referred pain to the testes
STD

A rash or jock itch is usually the most common cause of rash over the testicles or the groin. This is usually treated with antibiotics, creams, or other ointments. This type of rash usually reduces after a few days.

Some people may also notice similar symptoms with STDs and taking an STD panel test can be useful for this. The STD panel would determine the cause of the STD and the right treatment for it.

Do see your doctor for this.

I hope this helps. Please reach out to me if you have any other questions.
