What Does Swelling In The Feet And Toes Indicate?

Hello. Thank you so much for your time and knowledge. Much appreciated. Rapid swelling in both feet, not the toes, within almost 2 days. Practically one day. Able, but getting more difficult to bend toes due to swelling. Getting worst from ankle down, from side of the feet inward. I have been suffering and recovering from neck injury that also affects my spine, back, and now my right leg. I was told that it might be L4 or L5 disc being pressured, causing my right leg to limp. So far, my right foot seems swelling faster and more. Please let me know if you need any kind of other medical information. Thank you so much.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. Sudden swelling in feet can be due to a number of reasons. It has to be physically examined to determine whether the swelling is pitting or not. Also whether you have any associated symptoms like dyspnea cause swelling over feet can also be an indication of heartfailure. I don't think the swelling can be due to disc compression. Moreover you have not mentioned whether you are having tingling or numbness in your feet. It can be said conclusively only on clinical examination. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
