What Does Suspicious Opacities Seen In The Upper Left Lung Mean?
Hi. underwent xray last Feb 2015, in compliance for our annual physical check up. The result says suspicious opacities seen in the upper left lung. Was advised to repeat the xray for apicolordotic view. I am hesitant to do this because I believe that I will be exposed to radiation in less than 6 months. Isn t It hazardous to my health? I prefer to take meds instead before I proceed to the said recommendation. I want to mitigate the possible result before I proceed to another Xray. By the way, I dont experience any symptoms related to lung problem as described in the research I have read. Can you help me Doctor? Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for writing to HCM. first of all let me inform you that xray for chest doesn't expose u to high radiation dose so ur concern regarding exposure is not that much serious. Secondly suspecious opacities in upper zone of lung are mostly associated with either tubercular lesion or may be due to fungal infection. Without proper diagnosis ther is no meaning of taking medicines. May be ur not convenient for the said examination but I will recommend u to go for it . Thanks I hope I answered ur queries.
