Recently, I have done semen analysis and the result is
Sperm count - 21 million/ml
Morphology: Normal forms - 5%; Head defects - 78%; Neck/Midpiece defect - 9%; Cytoplasmic droplets-7%; Tail -1%
Motility: Rapid progressive - 15%; Slow progressive - 20%; Non-motile - 62%
Post wash conc - 3.5 million/ml

The, I was advised to do varicocele doppler

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The interpretation of the test results is as follows:
The semen analysis shows following results:
1. The sperm count - 21 million/ml is wiyhin normal limits. The sperm count should be atleast 20 million/ ml.
The morphology of sperms is sub-normal, atleast 50% sperms should have normal morphology.
The motility of sperms is also sub-normal, atleast 40% sperms should have progressive forward motion.
Thus, sperm morphology and motility both below the normal range for morphology and motility.

The Doppler of the testes shows presence of varicocele of both testes.
Varicocele is a condition wherein the veins of testes are dilated and may lead to accumulation of fluid in outer covering of the testes.
Varicocele of testes may be responsible for abnormal variables in semen analysis.
The testes are within normal limits.
Treatment of varicocele is required thus, consult your surgeon for management of varicocele which is usually surgical.

Thanks and take care
