What Does Sharp Pain In The Breast Bone Indicate?
Hi! My husband woke me with intermittent sharp pain in the breastbone near the xyphoid process. He is 49. He is also burping frequently. He feels worse when he sits up. It s been going on for about 1 hour intermittently. He is not having any other symptoms.

Your husband is having symptoms of gastric upset and gastritis.He needs to modify his lifestyle. Take meals atleast 2 hours before sleep. Avoid smoking, alcohol and fatty meals. Sleep at left lateral position and head slightly elevated.Take tablet Pantoprazole.
