What does severe pain in the lower back indicate?

I have been having severe pain in my lower back. I have plates and screws from back surgery, but the pain goes from my back, to my groin. I ve had r kidney surgery in 2002, kidney was solid stone. This is my left side doing this. Sometimes the pain is so bad, I sweat and want to pass out. I think I might have 2 conditions going on, because of symptoms?

Hello,

First of all please tell me for which condition you have undergone a surgical procedure. Vertebral stenosis repair surgery usually has high failure rates. As you described pain again started, it seems to place of plates and screws in spine did not give 100% result. Please consult the spine surgeon who had done your surgery. Till then follow these advices -
Avoid soft beds, use a hard bed for sleeping.
Don't bend unless and until required.
Apply hot compression for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
