What Does Semen Analysis Report Suggest?

HI,
I have semen analysis done today. My age is 34. The following is the report.
Sperm count: 58 million/cumm
Active motile: 70%.
Sluggish Motile: 10%
Non Motile: 20%
Normal Forms: 70%
Abnormal Forms:30%
Pus cells: 20-25/HPF
Epithelial Cells: 2-3/HPF
RBC: Nil
Others: Nil

There are pus cells and epithelial cells noticed in the semen analysis. I have read that pus cells indicate the infection. But I am worried as the pus cells are more (20-25). Can you please advise.

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

Your semen analysis report suggests infection. This is indicated by the presence of pus cells, epithelial cells. Normally, there shouldn't be any pus cells in semen.
Infection may be due to prostatitis,UTI etc.
You need antibiotics for infection.
Other investigation like routine hemoram,RBS,Ultrasound of pelvis should be done.Trans rectal sonography of prostate can be done if needed.
Rest of the findings like motility, morphology etc are normal.
You should consult your doctor.
Hope i have answered your query.

Take Care
