What Does Right Longitudinal Lie In Uterus With Non Engaged Fetal Head Mean?
What is the meaning of right longitudinal lie in uterus with non engaged fetal head . And also share that normal delivery can possible in this manner if report showing that the weight 3128+- 469 Gms and adequate fluid level with placenta is anterior in upper uterine segment mid grade 3type maturity
Hi The lie is the relationship between the long axis of the fetus and that of the mother and can either be longitudinal, transverse or oblique. Longitunal means the long axis of the fetus and that of the mother are pointing to the same direction.Right longitudinal only describes the position of an arbitrarily chosen point on the presenting part with respect to the maternal birth canal. Head not engaged means the presenting part is the head and that the head still lies high in the pelvic floor. Normal delivery will be possible depending of the the final position of the presenting part after engagement. However, normal delivery in cephalic presentation is possible if the pelvis is adequate. The placenta is well positioned with a few calcifications visible. This suggest that the placenta is aging and delivery should be around corners but no danger to the baby yet. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
