What Does Retroverted Uterus And With Fundal Intramural Myoma Indicate?

HI im Lore 38yrs of age,married but was not able to concieve for almost 7yrs of being married.I under went ultrasound today and the result was not yet discuss to me by my OB, it says here that i have retroverted uterus and with Fundal intramural myoma 1.2x1.2cm. I just want to know what is this and the cure for it? If i will be ablle to have a baby?

Thanks for writing to HCM

You are suffering from small uterine fibroid.Fibroid is benign tumour of the uterus. Fibroid may involve many region of the uterus like muscle of uterus(called as intramural),below serosa of uterus(called as subserosa) etc.

Fibroid can be treated by both means conservatively and surgically depend upon many things like age,family is completed or not etc.
Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogs are commonly used in the medical treatment of fibroids.

Fibroid may be the reason for infertility.Myomectomy(surgical removal of fibroid ) can be done after evaluation.

You will definitely be able to have a baby.However,other causes of infertility should ruled out.
