What Does Redness And Swelling On Nose Indicate?

I have had MRISA before on my face (cheek area). This morning I woke up and the bridge of my nose was red.It has been tender all day, and looks swollen. Just wondering what it could be. No open, broken skin that I could see for a staph infection to enter in, but that is always a concern now.

Hello,

Welcome to healthcare magic.

From your history and description, I would consider the possibility of a furuncle or a boil.

You need to get a pus culture test and an antibiotic sensitivity panel to check for MRSA.

You need a course of oral antibiotics to treat the infection.

Hope this helps you.

Take care.
