Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a skin like discharge coming out of my vagina, it s also red and irritated no distinct smell, only the normal smell of ones period. Maybe 4 days ago I had gone out wearing underwear that was not cotton sweat a lot while wearing a tampon for an extended amount of time changed it when I got home and didn t shower until the next day. I figured it was a yeast infection and bought the canestoral pack took the 1 oral pill and have been applying cream. The irritation have gone down a bit but now this discharge appeared. I m not sure if it may be the oral pill or something serious ?
Bloody vaginal discharge can be caused by several conditions from infection (sexually transmitted infections) to cervical or uterine lumps or masses. I would advise you to have a gynecological visit and also a pap smear, transvaginal ultrasound and NAAT test for sexually transmitted infections.
According to the results of these tests the doctor will be able to determine a diagnosis and further management.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
