What Does Reactive HSV In The Report Suggest?
My wife's Test of HSV 1+2 IgGAb to Herpes Simplex Virus, serum by CLIA has came as REACTIVE (33.2).Associated Test: HSV 1 and 2- western Blot (IgG & Igm)HSV 1+2-IgMAb to Herpes Simplex Virus, serum by EIA as Negative (0.31)I am worried, could you please explain me what does it mean and implication of it.

The presence of IgG antibodies but not IgM antibodies indicates a history of past exposure to the virus or vaccination and indicates that the person tested should be immune to the herpes simplex virus. The presence of IgG antibodies, but not IgM antibodies, in a newborn means that the mother's IgG antibodies have passed to the baby in utero and these antibodies may protect the infant from infection during the initial six months of life. Nothing to worry they indicate your wife's immunity.
