What Does "posterior Spurring Of The Medial Tibial Pleateau" In X-ray Suggest?
I recently had some Xrays of my knee and the results show: there is prominent posterior spurring of the medial tibial pleateau, possible loose bodies of the posterior medial compartment, moderate to moderately advanced tricpmpartmental degenerative joint disease, and possibly a loose body in the superior aspect of the patellogemoral joint. Without viewing the actual Xrays, what would expect a suggested treatment would be?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Presence of loose bodies in the joint and degenerative changes in the joint cavity and associated articular structures and tendons is characteristic of osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is an age related degenerative condition in which there is degeneration's of joint as whole. The degenerative changes cannot be reversed but their progression can be halted. Avoiding certain movements which can aggravate the degeneration and medication which will restore the integrity of the joint structures. The medication for osteoarthritis is hyaluronidase which maintains the integrity of the cartilage. For the activities to be avoided and exercises to be performed, you will have to consult an orthopedician and physiotherapist.
