Neurologist 's  Response
Hello,

It means that the radiologist believes you may have some sort of chronic sinus infection but the only reason he is making this call is because sinus cavities are visible on brain MRI's. Otherwise, the sinuses have nothing to do with brain tissue or anatomy.

The two entities are entirely separate. The fact that he can SEE sinus cavities on the MRI of the brain means he has to read and make calls of things he believes are present but it is in no way indicative of a disorder of the brain tissue.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi
