What does purple discoloration on the foot indicate?

My wife suffered a massive stroke in November 2016 since then she has had very little movement in her right leg. She wears a compression hose on that leg at all times. Tonight after her bath we notice her foot had turned very dark purple. When you apply light pressure to the top of the foot it will turn white again and when you let go it will return to the purple state. She is on Eliquis twice daily to prevent clots.

It might be turning to gangrene of that foot. First, get your toe to examine by any general surgeon to check for vascularity if it’s cyanotic and vascularity compromised to the particular part they would do surgery and repair it. Anticoagulants dosage we need to rethink of after the procedure, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis to given, and care your legs well to avoid further more complications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
