What Does Protein In Urine Indicate?

My 13 yr old grandson had a 1+ protein in his urine at a routine physical. His blood work was normal except for increased MPV and neutrophils and decreased lymphocytes. He has had enlarged lymph nodes for approx 6 mo. Do you think any of this is related and suggestive of anything serious? thank you
