What Does Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding Post Medical Abortion Indicate?

Hello doctor I had an abortion using unwanted kit pills , i tood only 3 pills and left the other two , its been 18 days and my bleeding hasnt stopped yet , please suggest weather i should take the remaining pills or not , or is it okay to bleed so long ?

I understand your concern
Bleeding up to 18 days after using abortion pill is not normal
Normally bleeding will stop with in 4-5 days after using pill.
Abortion pill should be used under the advise of the gynecologist after confirming intrauterine pregnancy by the USG scan.
Prolonged bleeding could be due to incomplete abortion, pelvic inflammatory disease, vaginal infection.
As you used only three pill, it think it is mostly due to incomplete abortion.
Retain product of pregnancy bleeds continue.
Retain produce further increase the risk of infection.
I would suggest to consult the gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination and USG scan to know the status of the pregnancy.
Incomplete abortion should be treated by extra dose of misoprostol or by D & C under the advise of the gynecologist.
Take proper rest, eat healthy diet with iron supplements, maintain proepr pelvic hygiene, drink plenty of water.
Infection require course of antibiotic.
