What does presence of brown layer over the front teeth during pregnancy indicate?

I m 18 weeks pregnant and every morning I seem to be waking up with a thick brown layer over my front teeth and around my lips. I have sinus problems so often sleep with my mouth open. I ve been getting very dry at night, but drink a lot of water throughout the day. This has happened in the past but not often, now it s happening every day. Any ideas of how to fix this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, this is likely due to dryness you are having due to open mouth sleep secondary to sinus problems.

Get steam inhalation and some anti-inflammatory medicines and sprays to cure this and antibiotics may also be needed for sinus issues.

If the problem persists even once sinuses issues are solved then you may need to consult your dentist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
