General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

With a miscarriage there is loss of a lot of blood and clots as well as thick fleshy material.
Based on your description, a miscarriage is not likely. Bleeding can occur between periods, so this is likely the cause of the blood that you noticed.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
