What Does Pink Bleeding After Protected Sex Indicate?
I am on birth control and have been for years. I also haven't had sex in over a year. Last Saturday i had unprotected sex, Monday i took the Plan B bill, my period starts next Tuesday. And I had protected sex tonight and in the middle of it i started bleeding. and it wasn't a drop or two we had to wash the sheets. the blood was a pink but most reddish blood. What does this mean? I'm scared to death
I understand your concern. There are a few possible explanations for this: 1. You are experiencing withdrawl bleeding after Plan B which is common in this case you need not worry as this must stop spontaneously after 3-4 days. 2. Another possibility is that there was some trauma to the genital tract after sexual act and led to bleeding. This, in most cases is accompanied by pain. If you had pain then trauma could be the reason for bleeding. 3. Small tumors of the cervix like polyps or a condition called cervical erosion can cause bleeding during sex. These would be confirmed only after examination by a gynecologist.
If the bleeding has stopped, there is no need to worry. Just check if you have bleeding the next time you have sex.
If your are still bleeding and there is pain, I suggest that you see your doctor and get examined as it may need further treatment.
