What Does Pelvic Ultrasound Scan Suggest?

I just had my pelvic ultrasound and this is the results.

The anteverted uterus measures 3.9 x 4.1 x 2.9cm. Myometrial echopattern is homogeneous with no focal lesion noted. The endometrium is not thickened 0.6m. The cervix is intact and measures 3.2 x 2.2 cm. The right ovary measures 4.7x2.2x1.6 cm while the left ovary measures 3.9x1.9x1.3cm. BOth ovaries exhibit multiple cystic structures peripherally. POsterior cul-de-sac is unremarkable.

Please help me to explain above result. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

The uterus is normal in size and shape. The appearance on ultrasound is normal. The ovaries are not enlarged enough to call it polycystic ovarian syndrome. However other details like number and size of follicles is important. You might need to discuss the probability of poly cystic ovarian syndrome should you be having clinical symptoms.
