What Does Peeling Of Skin Inside The Nasal Cavity Suggest?

The inside of my nose is peeling. On both sides. It just came randomly ... I do get runny nose often this time of year but I can actually pull the skin off and then it s a little red and grows back thicker which bothers me so I try to get it off again. This has happened once before last year and it took forever to go away.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You need an otolaryngologist review and get it examined as it can be due to nasal congestion or inflammation with rhinitis etc. but possibility of polyps or mucosal thickness etc should be ruled out. Local decongestants may be helpful. Anti histamines like cetirizine or loratidine along with OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be helpful. Saline nasal drops, steam inhalations can also be used.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
