What Does Pain In The Upper Abdomen And Vomiting Indicate?

My wife (60 yrs old) has upper abdominal pain (feels like it is burning), has vomited, but not in the last few hours, 101.7 temperature and the chills (her hands shake when holding a cup.) The discomfort in the abdominal area started early this morning, followed by vomiting a few hours later.
