What Does Non Reactive VDRL Test And Positive TPHA Indicate?

Sir i got VDRL test that is non reactive but TPHA is positive 1.40 what is that mean ? i had a small sores on my pines i went to see a doctor and he gave me erythromycin tablets um using that since 2months now my sores are gone but today i saw a small sore on my pines again, and i had a small swollen gland in my genital area before 2months that also gone now , please doctor help me

Welcome to HCM.
You had not mentioned anything about your sexual activity.
There could be a lot of misinterpretation with the VDRL test. It could better be repeated. TPHA reactive one in 40 dilution is also a very low titre. Both can be repeated once again.
VDRL non reactive and TPHA positive means you are a case of treated Syphilis or you don't have any active disease. No more treatment is necessary for Syphilis.
Recurrence of genital sore could not necessarily be related to the VDRL or TPHA (Syphilis), but could be due to Genital Herpes. More than one STD can exist with anybody at the time of examination.
Your doctor will guide you appropriately. Get well soon.
