Hallow Mumma,

I can understand your apprehension.

I shall explain you your situation step by step.

1. In previous pregnancy you had empty sac. It means that due to the chromosomal abnormalities in the product of conception, there was no embryo growing inside the sac. This condition is called as 'Blighted ovum'. Such pregnancies usually abort or may have to be terminated.

2. There is a good chance for women with history of one blighted ovum pregnancy to have normal pregnancy in future.

3. Now that you are 9 weeks pregnant, it is very easy to find about the embryo in the sac. Please get ultrasonography done. The presence of embryo in the sac will rule out the blighted ovum.

4. In order to achieve good embryonic growth, you have been prescribed folinext which contains folic acid - an important constituent required for the cell multiplication.

4. Since you complained of lower abdominal pain, you have been prescribed Duphaston and Uterone. Both these medicines contain progesterone which helps in stabilizing the pregnancy if it is unstable due to progesterone or hCG deficiency.

5. Nausea is a known side effect of progesterone containing medicines.

I hope I have made your doubts clear.

Wish you a happy successful pregnancy.
