What Does My X-ray Report Indicate?

can i ask whats the meaning of my xray result it says:noted is a 9mm rounded opacity with ill-defined borders within the right upper lobe, given the history of prior granulomatous disease, may represent a granuloma however an underlying lung nodule related to a primary lung neoplasm is difficult to completely exclude. In addition, there is a persistent area of a small nodular opacities within the left upper lobe laterally which is nonspecific and maybe related to an area of fibronodular changes from remote granulomatous disease.

Hi,

Welcome to Health Care Magic,

I am Dr.Naveed Ullah khan,

I have read your question in detail and will try to help you in the best way possible.

This conclusion of this report would be much simpler with detail history. If old age and smoker then i would say definitly biopsy it. Coz there is an increase risk of cancer.
If young age non smoker then seriel x-rays to see if it progresses or gets irregular then still a biopsy would be needed. But if it stays the same after 2 years then it is just benign.
Alzo it can be an infection. In which case you will have some more symptoms like fever may be weight loss or history of travel to high risk areas for TB or aspergillus.

I hope this answered all your queries, if you have more queries,I will be happy to answer.

Wish you the best of health.

Regards.

Dr.Naveed Ullah Khan.
