Hi,
Your Serum Cholesterol is 240 mg/dl ( Normal Recommendations:
1. Avoid processed and fried food, pastries, hard margarine, butter since they are high in saturated fat. Instead use olive oil, vegetable oil and canola oil in your diet. Use nuts in natural form as they are rich source of unsaturated fat.
2. Consume low fat milk and milk products.
3. Consume lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. Use less oil (3 tablespoon per day)while cooking.
4. Increasing fibre in your diet can reduce cholesterol levels in the body. Use whole grains like brown rice, whole grain bread, pasta, atta, oats, quinoa instead of white rice and white pasta, atta.
5. If you consume meat, choose lean meat, skinless poultry and fish( rich in omega-3 fatty acids- lowers cholesterol).
6. Use legumes like chick peas, kidney beans as a source of protein often than meat.
7. Last but not the least, be physically active. 30 minutes of physical activity such as brisk walking, cycling, jogging, squash, etc at least 5 times a week is important to be healthy and maintain a healthy weight. Since you have not mentioned your weight, I suggest to assess your BMI( Body mass index) to know if you are in healthy range.
If chest pain is persisting it is advisable to visit physician immediately.
Thanks
