What Does My Glucose Test Report Indicate?

Hi, I am 28 weeks pregnant and had oral glucose tolerance test yesterday. results are as follows, fasting blood sugar level (10 hours) 79 mg/dl One hour after drinking the glucose solution 200 mg/dl Two hour after drinking the glucose solution 169 mg/dl what does that mean? Do I have gestational diabetes?

Hi,

The test you went through is also called as OGTT and is the test to diagnose gestational diabetes.

As far as your test results are concerned, the fasting blood sugar levels and 2 hours after glucose solution are the important readings to be looked at. Fortunately, both are within normal range and it can be safely said that you are not having gestational diabetes at the moment. Fasting blood sugars should be below 126 mg/dL and 2 hours after glucose solution should be less than 200 mg/dL.
