I ate breakfast today w/my daughter after she had a colonoscopy. Just a few minutes later I had the urge for a bowel movement, but couldn t go. I sat in the restroom of a store for several hours sweating profusely but cold and clammy. I finally started going a little and vomited several times. My daughters secured a wheelchair cart and I was able to get in the car to come home. Five minutes on the way and we had to stop at a gas station/mini mart where the BMs were very watery and noticed a little blood on paper. Finally got home and in bed. Drinking PowerAde, ginger ale, and ice chips. Diarrhea continues but am now passing bloody tissue and pure red blood. I have a gastroenterology doctor. What do you think, and can I wait til tomorrow to call him? I am almost 67 yrs. old and female.

What Does My Colonoscopy Report Indicate?
Hello, Kindly show to your gastroenterologist at the earliest, passing bloody stools in an elderly female is not a good sign and needs to be evaluated. If I were your treating doctor, I would have examined per rectally and advised stool test, colonoscopy, routine hemogram. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Jatin Bhatia, Radiation Oncologist
