Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This is what i received after my chest X ray A recent chest x-ray showed fibrotic opacity in the right upper zone. Please include the following information:- Clinical examination findings;- Results of 3 current smears and cultures (sputum samples taken on 3 different mornings, or other appropriate specimens as clinically indicated) and cultures for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (plus DST if cultures are positive).- Old chest x-rays for comparison (if available). Reports can be submitted if images available are not digital.- Repeat PA image 3 months after the initial CXR- Any previous reports regarding any treatment of tuberculosis; If TB has been excluded, please exclude other pathology that could cause the abnormal x-ray findings.
However, to confirm this, additional tests are required, such as sputum examination, X-ray examination, and pathologic examination.
You should seek the opinion of your treating doctor to confirm this. Also do the following suggestions: 1. Avoid throwing sputum carelessly 2. Always close your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing 3. Make sure you wash your hands afterwards.
Hope this answer helps. Take care.
