What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

My son was feeling tired for over two weeks and finally went to his doctor. Bloodwork was ordered (CMP, CBC, TSH). His TBil was elevated and his platelet count was low. All other levels within normal ranges.
Any thoughts regarding the elevated Tbil/low Plt scenario?

Hello,

Increased bilirubin suggests either hemolytic condition or liver infection. Liver infection like hepatitis can lead to increase bilirubin level along with high SGPT and SGOT condition. So check your SGPT and SGOT level also.

Platelet can be low from viral infections, malaria, dengue, drug induced, uremia, etc., like condition. I need to know your reports value and clinical complaint to give more comment. Clinical correlation is indicated in your case. Consult a physician for examination and further work-up accordingly if needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
