What Does My Biopsy Report Indicate?

I have had one biopsy and it was a fibroadenama and has not grown or changed since 2009. I have a few other small lumps and one that is about 2cm that I just had biopsied. The lab can t tell if it s fibroadenoma or phyllodes tumor. Why not? Should I have the sample sent to another lab? I don t want to have it removed.

Hi !
Welcome to HCM!
It is sometimes difficult to differentiate phyllodes tumor from fibroadenoma on biopsy .Such problem can be solved by multidisciplinary approach in which pain or lump which increases in size, hyperdense mass on mammogram, and USG findings showing round cysts, clefts within the mass favour phyllodes tumor. you can definitely take second opinion on biopsy report too. hope this will help. Take care!
