my mother was having sinus tachy cardia for the past four yea r Last day i ahve taken her to check up.everything was fine....normal...ecg and normal echo test. But TMT report say "Test is mildly positive for ischemia"? the following is the report. Stressed up to 9 mts on bruce protocol and attained 90% THR at HR of 151BPM with a workload of 10 METS RPP 27740. Accelerated HR and Normal BP response NO Angina/Arrhymia Baseline ECG shows sinus tachy cardia No significant ST shift noted during exercise 0.5 - > 1MM horizontal/downsloping ST depresion noted in INF - LAT leads .during recovery and persisted > MTS.
She had taken the test around 4pm with out having lunch, does this has any effect on TMT result? Does angiogram required ? Could you please answer my query in your esteemed concern?
Mildly positive stress test means there is chance of blockages in the arteries of the heart.Findings suggests inadequate supply of oxygen (via blood flow) to the heart muscle occurring with physical or emotional stress. It suggests that there is demand-supply mismatch at high demand levels for blood supply to the heart. However, there are chances of false positive results. You need clinical examination by a cardiologist.Further, angiography should be done. Angiography will exactly assess the status of coronary arteries.
Hope I have answered your question. Take Care Dr.Indu Bhushan
