What Does My PET Scan Report Indicate?

Sir, i got buccle cancer in 2015, and got operation and radiation. Now ub 2017 i have done PET Scan , in pet scan its showing as recurrence . shown as 1)Hyper-metabolic soft tissue density lession on either side of mandible on right side ? Recurrence 2)Mildly Hypermetabolic few right level 1b, II LYMPHNODES suggestive of metastases. My Doctor has done FNAC, The Impression is No Ecidence of mallignancy in the semar studied.. Sir doubt is in pet Sacn its showing in mandible on right side but my doctors has done FNAC on Neck, and say noting to worry . Is FNAC is enough. please guide me what to do sir i am from india (Hyderabad)

As the PET showing recurrence it is better to undergo biopsy. There are non malignant conditions in which the PET may be falsely positive.. but if the value is significantly high we have to rule out recurrence. I prefer to do a biopsy and rule out recurrence. take care.
