General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
The antinuclear antibody (ANA) test is used as a primary test to help evaluate a person for autoimmune disorders that affect many tissues and organs throughout the body. It is most often used as one of the tests to help diagnose disease called systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Patient samples are often screened for ANA after being diluted 1:40 and 1:160 in a buffered solution. Higher the titer, the more autoantibodies are present in the sample.
Kindly consult Rheumatologist for evaluation and management.
All the best.
