What Does Mucus In The Stool Indicate?

Hello, I have had at least 4 different occasions of mucus attached to the outside of stools. Also have intermittent constipation followed by softer stools. Have had 2 occasions in the past month or so of pale blood streaking stool. I know I have an anal fissure. GI doctor said do a colonoscopy. Colorectal surgeon said do a rigid sigmoidoscopy. Which should I do?

you are having gastroenteritis go for stool routine and microscopy test asap
a couse with metronidazole and oflox cabn be taken along with probiotic like bifilac.
