What Does Mild Thinning Of Cortex Of Kidney Mean?

My husband had an ultrasound that stated he had mild thinning of the cortex of his left kidney. There was also a slight enlargement of the spleen. What does this mean..?? and What else should we be watching for..?? Also, He has a history of glioblastoma post op 10 years. Current symptoms are frequency and urgency. Fever between normal and 101.8

Thanks for the concern. There are many causes of kidney cortex thinning like Diabetes, Hypertension, Polycystic kidney disease, GLomerulonephritis. The thinning of cortex of kidney always suggest the CHRONIC effect on kidney. these thinning of cortex is always present in chronic kidney disease.
Thinning of cortex indicates the kidney is not functioning properly. So your husband has to do complete blood count having serum creatinine level. please consult nephrologist get investigated and start treatment accordingly. Hope this might help your husband.
