Hi. I'm a 26 year old female with a concern that may end up being a non-issue. A few months ago I discovered a lump about 1/2-1 inch in diameter located 1 inch or so above my left ear. I can't tell if this lump is beneath the skin or beneath the skull bone. It does not hurt when pressure is applied to it (no more than any skin would hurt with pressure applied to it), and I do not have a symmetrical lump on the right side of my skull. I do not have any other abnormal lumps on my head. I am unsure of whether this lump has been there my entire life or if this is something that developed recently. I do not suffer from dizziness or excessive headaches (at least, not that I'm aware) and I consider my headaches to be normative in terms of their frequency and intensity. I have not experienced any differences in my vision, hearing, balance, nor have I experienced any nausea since discovering this lump. I am meeting with my primary care physician on Monday (for something not related to this issue, although I'll certainly bring it up and have him look at it). I just wanted to know if this was something that was normal, or if I should be concerned. Thank you for your time.
