What Does Lower Backache Along With Pain In The Left Thigh Indicate?

I have lower back pain accompanied by left thigh cramping and twitching. The lower back pain has been persistent for a week, and the thigh cramping and twitching started today. Have been taking 800mg of Ibuprofen and my Doctor prescribed 5mg Cyclobenzaprine HCL yesterday. Doesn t seem to be helping.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The lower back pain may be radiating to thigh because of sciatica. You need to rest your back, continue analgesics and go for physiotherapy. Include calcium and protein in your diet. Get your vitamin D levels in blood and X-ray of your lower back done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
