Hello,

Usually, with the MRI scan, we can analyze the soft tissue of the body but the bone scan is for assessing the construction of the bones if they are strong enough with proper deposits.

As there is no mention about the clinical symptoms it will become wrong on our part to comment over the orthopedist decision.

The bone scan is only referred to post-MRI if the Orthopedist finds clinical complaints different from what actually it is shown in the MRI.

Also, spondylitis is a common thing we find every now and then in every 3 Rd individual.

In my practice of 12 years, I have seen almost a bunch of cases for spondylitis and most of them have responded well to medication and Physical therapy.

Also, cancer cannot be detected in the bone scan. bone scan only reveal the composition of the bones.

For cancer, if suspected there might be advised to take blood reports or a biopsy. Please follow the Orthopedist guidelines for now without any worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
